Background Clearances Required for Hire

After you have accepted an offer of employment with the Columbia Borough School District, all incoming employees are responsible for completing the following:

  • Pennsylvania Criminal History Check

    • Apply for your Criminal Record Check online at PATCH, using a credit or debit card for payment.

    • Your results are emailed to you; submit those results via your online onboarding process.

  • Child Abuse Clearance

    • Apply online for your Child Abuse Clearance through the Child Welfare Portal. Results can take up to 21 days to receive.

    • Your results are emailed to you; submit those results via your online onboarding process.

  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance

    • Pre-Enroll for your FBI Fingerprint Clearance on the IdentoGO website

    • Please select Department of Education as the agency.

    • Click on “Schedule or Manage an Appointment” and enter code 1KG6XN.

    • After pre-enrolling, schedule an appointment to be fingerprinted at an IdentoGO site.

    • Bring necessary identification and a form of payment to your fingerprint appointment. IdentoGO locations accept credit/debit cards or money orders made out to MorphTrust for $25.25.

    • Submit your results via your online onboarding process

Columbia Borough School District has contracted with STS, Inc. for various positions in the district. Below are the positions that STS has available.

STS is looking for caring individuals who have experience in a school setting, are willing to learn, are patient, and possess a positive attitude. Eligible candidates must have the necessary documentation/clearances to work in a school district.
